When every test is normal, but symptoms persist

Symptoms often begin during periods of chronic stress, overwork, prolonged sitting, intense training, or major life changes.

Over time, the pelvic floor can become excessively tense and poorly coordinated—the same way any muscle group responds to sustained pressure and stress.

This can contribute to urinary urgency and frequency, pelvic tension and pain, bowel dysfunction, sexual symptoms, and a persistent sense that something does not feel normal, even when imaging or testing come back normal.

Assessment typically begins with the external pelvic floor. Additionally, low back, hip, and breathing assessments can also help to identify contributing factors.

About the Provider

Dr. Joshua Weber, PT, DPT

Dr. Joshua Weber is a New York–licensed physical therapist with nine years of clinical experience and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Touro College. He built his foundation in NYC's top orthopedic and sports medicine clinics, treating everyone from professional athletes to post-surgical and chronic-pain patients.

While serving as a clinic director, Josh saw a growing number of men living, often in silence, with pelvic pain, urinary and bowel dysfunction, erectile issues, post-prostatectomy complications, and pain with intimacy. Most had gone years with little guidance or access to real care.

In 2023, he shifted his focus entirely to this underserved population, pursuing advanced training in pelvic floor rehabilitation and combining it with his orthopedic and sports background. That work led him to found Pelvic Lab.

His treatment is built around the individual, hands-on manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, movement training, and targeted changes to the habits driving symptoms, with the goal of helping men not just manage their symptoms, but resolve them.

As an out and gay physical therapist who has personally navigated many of these challenges, Josh offers a rare combination of clinical expertise and lived experience. He built Pelvic Lab to be a place where men can speak openly, without judgment, and get back to being themselves.

Clinical Philosophy

Clinical reasoning for symptoms that haven’t responded to standard care.

Many men arrive at Pelvic Lab after months, or years, of persistent symptoms, normal imaging, and treatments that have never addressed the underlying issue.

Treatment at Pelvic Lab looks at the full system: pelvic floor coordination, muscular guarding, breathing mechanics, posture, movement patterns, stress physiology, and nervous system sensitivity — the factors a standard workup often misses.

The goal is to identify what's actually driving your symptoms and restore function with a clear, personalized plan, not a cookie cutter template to manage your symptoms indefinitely.

Affirming Care

Pelvic Lab is committed to respectful, affirming care for men across sexual orientations and gender identities.
